Privacy Policy
The short version: DayWindow collects nothing about you. There is no account and no server of ours. What you enter stays on your iPhone, with a free copy in your own iCloud so a new phone is not a blank page — and one tap in Settings switches even that off.
What DayWindow keeps on your iPhone
- The trips you enter: the country and the dates
- The rules you are tracking
- Your reminder settings
This is held in a small file on your device, shared only with DayWindow’s own home screen widget so it can show the same numbers.
The copy in your iCloud
So that a new phone is not a blank page, DayWindow also keeps a copy of the list above in your own iCloud, under your own Apple Account. This is free and it is on by default. You can switch it off at any time in the app: Settings → Keep a copy in my iCloud. With it off, nothing leaves the iPhone at all.
We never receive it and cannot see it. It goes to Apple’s iCloud with your Apple Account, not to us. We have no server and nothing to send it to. Apple’s own privacy policy covers what they do with it.
What DayWindow never collects
- Your name or your email address
- Your location. The app never asks for it and never reads it
- Your photos, contacts or calendar
- Advertising identifiers. There is no tracking and no advertising
- Analytics or crash reports
No account, no server of ours
There is nothing to sign up for. DayWindow has no back end of its own, so there is no database of ours anywhere holding your travel history. The only copy that leaves your iPhone is the one in your own iCloud, described above, and only if you leave that switched on.
Reminders
If you turn reminders on, they are worked out on your iPhone and delivered by your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. You can turn them off at any time in the app, or in your iPhone’s own Settings.
Subscriptions
DayWindow Pro is sold and handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple’s own privacy policy covers that transaction. You can cancel at any time in your iPhone Settings, under your Apple Account, then Subscriptions.
Deleting your data
- Settings → Delete everything in the app erases every trip stored on that iPhone and the copy in your iCloud. It cannot be undone.
- Swipe a trip in the Trips list to delete just that one.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the iPhone, including the widget’s copy. It does not reach into your iCloud — iOS gives a deleted app no chance to tidy up after itself. To clear that copy as well, use Delete everything first, or switch the iCloud copy off before you delete.
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription is held by Apple rather than by the app.
Children
DayWindow is a general audience app. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone of any age, because it does not collect information at all.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
